How to Plan Out and Delegate Your Bulk Article Writing Project
There are many reasons to create a stockpile of bulk articles or content
for your website. The first one being that if you want your site to show
up in search results, you must build your visibility within your niche.
Competition is steep, but that doesn't mean that someone out there won't
find what they need if your keywords match their search.
The second reason is that there are so many outlets of exposure you can
take when publishing on the web. It doesn't cost anything to have your
article posted on other people's websites, and you even get a link back
to your site in most cases. That means a. you'll be seen in that many
more places, and b. you'll be earning that link love that Google and the
other search engines want to see.
First, you really want to get into the mindset of the frantic web searcher.
He's hunting for some information within your niche because some issue
in his life needs resolving. Try to imagine what sort of problems people
might be looking to fix. Or, maybe she doesn't have a problem per se,
but is interested in finding a good information resource.
From here, do a brainstorm of possible questions said searcher might
have about your niche topic. Let's say you're writing a website about
the care and feeding of dogs. Some questions the new dog owner might have
could be...
-
Do I need to have my dog treated for fleas and ticks year-round?
-
What should I feed my new puppy?
-
How many times a day does 4-month old puppy eat?
-
Is it okay to give my puppy a rawhide bone?
-
What kinds of animal bones are safe for dogs?
-
Is there any way to get my dog's teeth cleaned without anesthesia?
Obviously, the questions new dog owners have are many. So this means
you'll have a lot to talk about on your website.
Your next step can be to reframe the questions into keyword-rich headlines.
So, for the first question about fleas and ticks, you might write a title
that says: "Fleas and Ticks: Seasonal or Year-Round Application?
A List of Guidelines for Dog Owners."
You don't necessarily have to title the articles in such a way, but you
can if you want to. Another option is to do like Yahoo does, and simply
use a Q&A format on your website for people to find and learn from.
Just post the question, and then answer it.
Using the above method, it should be easy enough to come up with at least
50 different topics that will be of interest to someone visiting your
dog care website. From here, you're ready to either have the articles
written by a professional website content creator, or write them yourself.
If you're concerned about cost, there are many ways to keep the price
of your bulk article production low while the quality and pertinence
of the information remain high.
-
Write rough drafts of each article yourself, then ask the copywriter
or copy editor to quote a flat fee for editing each one.
-
Have the writer do a quick draft of each article, then edit each
one to meet your quality expectations.
-
Split up the job – you do 50 articles, and the copywriter does
the other 50.
-
Tackle 2 pieces of content each day for an entire month. Or, maybe
commit to 5 articles per week for 4 months.
-
Split the article content up between a group of different writers.
This will help maintain a fresh voice despite hours of laboring over
your content creation. (If you need someone to get a team going on
your project, contact Dina@Wordfeeder.com).
Once you've finished with your bulk article production, it will be time
to publish on the web. Be sure to proofread (or hire a proofreader) to
maintain proper grammar and avoid errors that may make you appear silly.
You may also want to add a photo to each article and insert keywords into
the alt tags of the photo.
Finally, don't forget to add a 2- or 3-line bio about you and whatever
products and/or services you sell on your website. Include a link to sign
up for either your newsletter, or a mailing list for whatever info product
you may be selling or giving away.
Once you're all done – take a rest. Then, start all over again!
