BACK TO WORD FOOD - THE COPYWRITING NEWSLETTER FROM WORDFEEDER.COM
Hello,
Thank you for being a loyal reader and fan of Wordfeeder Copywriting and Marketing!
I've got a question for you: when was the last time you updated your website?
I don't mean an overhaul, necessarily. Adding a couple of new pages here, a few blog posts there, is good enough for the Search Engine Gods to smile down upon you. So that said: when was the last time you did it?
So many people overlook the importance of maintaining their website. They think that a simple, 8-page static site will be enough to get them customers. It really isn't! Trust me, I know. I've had Wordfeeder since 2003. It took a lot of hard work and great content publishing to get here.
Try to think of your website as a TV series about you and your business, that your visitors can tune into regularly. Search engines are watching your show, too. They're waiting for you to add something fresh and new so they can come around and index you again. This is the "secret" strategy for getting your site on Google. You add new content, again and again and again, and it gets catalogued online for the world's searchers to seek and find.
Speaking of redesigns, I'm proud to share with you yet another incarnation of the Wordfeeder Copywriting and Marketing website. Check it out and see if you can figure out what's different. :) This new design got me IMMEDIATE traffic from people who were READY to buy what I sell (copywriting and editing services).
Why would I design my site again? Well... there are tools out there like the Website Grader from Hubspot that will actually TELL you what you need to do to improve your website's standing with Google and resulting traffic. I regularly run Wordfeeder through such tests, and then make changes according to what they say. This has resulted in GREAT rank for my site -- and I can do it for yours, too if we work together over the long haul.
Check out the Website Grader and tell me how your website scores. I'll help you make improvements to your content if necessary. Or, if you're in the market for a high-tech site revamp, I trust that the HubSpot guys will do a great job!
This month's article feature is about Email Newsletters, and how to get yours read and bringing sales in. We talked about how fresh content pages help your site's visibility and sales. Well, there's no use in publishing great content if no one knows about it. So that's where your newsletter or "ezine" comes in.
As always, if you need help turning your website into an information hub and selling machine, email dina@wordfeeder.com today!
Warm regards,

The Trick to Getting Your Newsletter Read and Bringing In New Business Each Month
One of the best ways to get people to come back and buy things from your website is to send out a monthly newsletter. Now, you might be thinking, well, lots of people email-market to me, and half the time I don't read what they send. So why would I think it would be any different if I mailed out a newsletter?
Trust me: it can be different, if you make it so. Here's the trick to getting your newsletter read each month: you want to keep the quality of the content extremely high. That means the following:
- Throwing together some half-baked ideas won't cut it
- A really short list of tips that they probably already know about won't cut it
- Filling your newsletter with other people's spam won't cut it
- Recycling old content won't cut it
I craft email newsletters for a select group of Wordfeeder clients, and here's what I aim to do with each issue:
