greetings from the head copy chick

Hi Name,

Well, it's that time of year again - when some people use the C-word. I'm going to say it, so avert your eyes if you must... CHRISTMAS!

As a child, never in my wildest dreams would I imagine that one day I'd be asking myself if it's okay to utter the name of my all-time favorite holiday aloud in my marketing.

But you know what? I was raised on Miracle on 34th Street, A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation. I gazed lovingly at the baby Jesus in the manger under my mother's Christmas tree. I braved the icy weather to go caroling with my high school friends. And when we ventured out to the malls in December, store clerks bid us a cheerful "Merry Christmas!" on our way out.

It's different today, with the melting pot being more diverse than ever. So I do wish my readers who celebrate other holidays this month a Happy Hannukah, Joyous Kwanzaa, Blissful Solstice, and Happy Festivus to the rest of us! But there is certainly no ill will meant by sending warm wishes to those who celebrate my holiday. So to all of you who partake in this joyous occasion, have a very Merry Christmas this year!

Join us for 24 blogging days 'til you-know-what!

Because I'm feeling so saucy and festive, I've decided to run a special blogging event this month for those who want to up their blogging production. Read about it below.

5 Critical Aspects of Website Design that Can Lessen the Impact of Your Copywriting

(and How to Correct Each Issue Before it Becomes a Major Problem)

By Dina Giolitto

People frequently approach me asking why their website's copywriting doesn't convert more sales. They're nervous, and rightfully so. After all, who wants to be told that their site needs a complete copywriting overhaul that could cost them thousands of dollars?

Some of my clients are frequently surprised when I tell them that their copy can be drastically improved, not by editing the words, but by changing elements of their website design. In fact... many times, it's not the copy that's the problem at all. Here's why.
